After uninstalling the stock suspensions, the warning lights on your dashboard will turn on. Please install the 「SUSPENSION WARNING CANCELLER」 included in the kit. ※The Canceller will only turn off the warning lights. The error signal inside the Stock Adaptive Damper System will not be completely eliminated. By installing the Canceller, vehicle diagnostic may become unavailable

Notes - With canceller. Can be installed on vehicles with variable damper system.
Variable damper system cannot be used. Rear damping dial is inside the wheelhouse.

 

 

 

Suspension kit DAMPER ZZ-R SpecDSC PLUS

  • A height-adjustable suspension kit that combines a full-length adjustable suspension with electronically controlled damping force adjustment.
  • Equipped with the industry's first "Full Auto" mode. A fully automatic control function that stabilizes posture with appropriate damping force based on the number of passengers and driving conditions.
  • The 2.5-inch VA LCD display is renowned for its contrast performance. Its large size allows the damping force of all four wheels to be displayed at all times.
  • The use of a rotary encoder allows for more intuitive operation, and the UP and DOWN buttons have also been enlarged.
  • The G sensor is equipped as standard. In map control mode, it is possible to finely adjust the damping force based on cornering G, acceleration/deceleration G, and vehicle speed.
    In addition to displaying G in real time, it is also possible to display peak G, making it convenient for setting.
  • A total of 22 modes are available. You can switch between the simple and easy STANDARD and the complex and detailed ADVANCED.
  • By adopting a high-performance bipolar (two-phase inversion) control motor, we have achieved a 17% reduction in size and a 5% increase in speed compared to conventional models.
  • Equipped with an ambient light sensor, it has an auto dimmer function that automatically adjusts the brightness of the LCD according to the surrounding brightness.

"Full length adjustment type" and its advantages

What is full-length adjustment?

The "screw type" that has been adopted mainly for affordable coilovers by simplifying the structure requires adjustments such as loosening the spring or applying preload (shortening) when adjusting the ride height.
These adjustment methods tend to cause problems such as a worsening ride comfort, bottoming out, and abnormal noise.
The "full length adjustment type" adopted by DAMPER ZZ-R allows the entire length of the shock absorber to be adjusted independently of the spring.
This allows the ride height to be adjusted without changing the stroke amount, so there is no need to worry about bottoming out or other problems.

Of course, just like the conventional screw-type, it is possible to adjust the vehicle height and preload by expanding and contracting the spring, allowing you to use it further to suit the situation.

Full-length adjustable structure and benefits

The vehicle height adjustment of the full-length adjustable type is done by raising or lowering the lock position (B) of the lower bracket.
When the position of B is raised, the overall length (full length) of the shock absorber becomes shorter, so the vehicle height is lowered by that amount.
With the full-length adjustable type, the length of the spring (A) does not change at all even when the vehicle height is lowered.
In other words, the stroke amount (range of movement) does not change, so it is possible to achieve a lowered vehicle while keeping changes in ride comfort to a minimum.

"Single-cylinder type" and its advantages

What is a single-cylinder type?

"Monotube" refers to a type in which the inside of the shock absorber shell case becomes a cylinder, and oil, gas, piston valve, etc. are contained in a single tube. It is characterized by the fact that the oil chamber and gas chamber are completely separated by a free piston.
"Twin-tube" is a structure in which there is another cylinder inside the shell case, and a piston valve moves up and down inside it.
DAMPER ZZ-R uses the monotube type in all lineups, aiming for a stable damping force generation by a simple structure, high rigidity, and a larger piston diameter.

Single-cylinder structure

  • It has a simple structure, is highly rigid, has excellent heat dissipation properties, and is highly durable.
  • It has a large oil capacity and ample thermal capacity, allowing it to provide stable damping force.
  • By making the piston larger, more precise damping force adjustment is possible.
  • Since the oil chamber and gas chamber are completely separated, there is a high degree of freedom in installation.

Double tube type

  • Because the structure is complex, heat tends to build up and manufacturing costs are high.
  • Due to its construction, the oil capacity is reduced.
  • Due to its structure, it is difficult to increase the diameter of the piston.
  • Since there is no separation between the oil chamber and the gas chamber, there are restrictions on the mounting angle.
