Proper oil temperature management is necessary for enjoying driving

Excessive oil temperature can cause the oil to break down, reducing its important functions of lubricating, cooling, and cleaning the inside of the engine. HKS oil coolers are designed to stabilize oil temperature with their excellent cooling effect, maximizing engine output.

General-purpose oil cooler kit

Two types are available: the R (replacement) type , which relocates the oil filter, and the S (sandwich) type, which sandwiches the attachment between the oil filter .

■ Thermostat function controls oil temperature

HKS oil coolers use a core with excellent cooling effect, so a thermostat is set to prevent the increase in viscous resistance of engine oil due to overcooling (excluding some vehicle models).
This thermostat responds well to temperature changes and also has a relief function. When the oil exceeds the temperature set by the thermostat, it flows into the core and is cooled. If the oil temperature is below that, the core is bypassed to maintain an appropriate oil temperature for the engine.

■Combining a relief function with the thermostat also allows for safety measures in the event of an emergency

If the oil pressure rises abnormally due to a crushed core or a clogged line, the oil is relieved from the thermostat, bypassing the core, protecting the engine and preventing line damage.

■Lightweight black mesh hose is used for the oil line, with emphasis on durability.

The lightweight black mesh hose used in this kit can be cut to the appropriate length to suit the vehicle model and layout to which it is installed.

R TYPE

The oil filter has been moved to a position that is easy to maintain.
HKS Oil Cooler R (replacement) type provides thorough oil management.

The core in the photo is a different size than the standard core size in the kit.

HKS oil cooler allows you to move the oil filter mounting position. This makes oil filter replacement easier. Unlike other companies' products, the thermostat is always activated by the temperature of the oil leaving the engine, allowing true oil temperature control. The thermostat also responds well to changes in oil temperature, and the valve also has
a relief function [activated at a differential pressure of 200kPa (2.0kgf/cm2 ^{) or more].}
